The Concept
This is an ongoing personal project of mine. I envisioned an upscale boutique that specialized in selling limited handmade quality clothing. Everything sold, from jewelery and eyeglass frames, to clothing, accessories and shoes, would be all black. Hence the name Noir.
The Brand
As a high-end fashion brand, Noir needed to be clean and the photography needed to be the focal point. The logo is tall and slim (with the exception of the O), so I wanted to pair it with beautiful black and white or desaturated photography to give it a classic feel and make it instantly recognizable.
Conclusion
Keeping the design simple ensures that it stays classic and timeless. The brand has to stand on it's on against companies like PRADA, Versace, ARMANI, Gucci, Coach and the like.
